Hajj Flights Commence as Visa Concerns Troubles Pilgrims
This year, a total of 85,257 individuals from Bangladesh will be making the pilgrimage to Hajj, with 4,562 under government management and 80,695 under private management agencies. According to the latest Hajj bulletin, 65,251 pilgrims have already received their visas, representing a significant progress in the visa issuance process. The government-managed pilgrims have achieved a visa approval rate of 92%, while privately-managed pilgrims have reached 76%.

Despite the ongoing visa application process, an additional 14,212 pilgrims have successfully arrived in Saudi Arabia in the past three days. However, for those who are still awaiting their visas, the situation remains tense as many pilgrims are seeking answers at the agency offices. The Secretary of the Hajj Department at the Ministry of Religion, Motiul Islam, has confirmed that the visa issuance system is operational, with 73,146 pilgrim visas already printed and ready for distribution.

In response to the visa crisis, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has introduced a smart pre-registration refund process for pilgrims as part of their innovation and service facilitation program. The Minister of Religion inaugurated the pre-registration refund service through the government medium on the e-Hajj BD mobile app, providing a more efficient and streamlined experience for pilgrims.

Overall, the Hajj visa system is running smoothly, with ongoing visa issuance and approximately 12,000 visas yet to be issued. Despite the uncertainties faced by some pilgrims, the Ministry of Religion remains optimistic that all visa concerns will be addressed promptly, allowing for a successful and fulfilling Hajj pilgrimage experience for all individuals.
